$500.00 Scholarship Award, Spring 2017

Purpose:
To encourage a senior student attending Southwest High School to continue their education at a college or university of their choice.

Applicant Must Submit the Following:

1. A 500 word, typed essay discussing the topic below:

***What were the best words of wisdom or advice that you have ever received from a parent, teacher or coach? Explain what the words mean to you and how you can live by them.******

2. Two Coach or Teacher Attestation (based on which category you are applying for)

Athletic Applicant Requirements:

• Male or Female student athlete (Two consecutive years on a UIL team at SWHS)
• Must be a graduating SWHS Senior in 2017
• Overall 2.5 GPA or higher
• At least 90% attendance rate in school (Excused absences not included)
• Resides in the Southwest ISD
• Submit designated 500 word, typed essay
• Two Teacher/Coach Attestation Forms
• Submit forms to Senior School Counselor; Elisha Frausto

 
Applicant Must Submit the Following:

1. A 500 word, typed essay discussing the topic below:

***What do you hope for in the future? Where would you like to be in twenty years? How would you navigate to get there?

2. Two Teacher Attestation Forms

Academic Applicant Requirements:

• Must be a graduating SWHS Senior in 2017
• Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
• Aleast 90% attendance rate in school (Excused absences not included)
• Resides in the Southwest ISD
• Performed 10 hours of Community Service
• Submit designated 500 word, typed essay
• Submit Two Teacher/Teacher Attestation Forms
• Submit forms to Senior School Counselor; Elisha Frausto

DEADLINE SUBMISSION: MAY 31, 2017 ( No Exceptions)

– Recipients of the Athletic Scholarship Award will be notified: June 5, 2017

– Recipients of the Academic Scholarship Award will be notified: June 5, 2017
