Student Athlete & Academic Scholarship Program

In memory of Kristie Ann Gonzalez

The purpose of the Kristie Ann Gonzalez Scholarship Program is to encourage a senior student in the SWISD to continue their education at a college or university of their choice.

Applicant Requirements:

Student Athlete: (Two consecutive years on a UIL team in the SWISD)
Must be a graduating SWISD HS Senior in 2024
Overall 2.5 GPA or higher
At least 90% attendance rate in school (Excused absences not included)
Resides in the SWISD

Applicant Must Submit the Following:
1. A 500 word, typed essay discussing the topic below. Place student ID on the top right of each page

***What were the best words of wisdom or advice you have ever received from a parent, teacher or coach?
Explain what the words mean to you and how you can live by them.

2. Two Coach/Teacher Attestation Forms

Academic Scholarship:
Must be a graduating SWISD HS Senior in 2024
Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
At least 90% attendance rate in school (Excused absences not included)
Resides in the SWISD
Performed 10 hours of Community Service

Applicant Must Submit the Following:
1. A 500 word, a typed essay discussing the topic below:

***What do you hope for in the future? Where would you like to be in twenty years? How would you navigate to get there?

2. Two Teacher Attestation Forms

DEADLINE SUBMISSION: April 25, 2024 

– Recipients of the Student-Athlete Scholarship Award will be notified: May 6, 2024

– Recipients of the Academic Scholarship Award will be notified: May 13, 2024
